“VAL PUSTERIA” – TRENTINO ALTO ADIGE

Val Pusteria is the second largest valley in South Tyrol.

Included between the towns of Fortezza and Prato alla Drava, it represented, until the beginning of the nineteenth century, the main axis of trade that from this land south of the Alps went to Austria and vice versa.

Empress Sissi herself used the Hapsburg Railway of Pusteria for her travels from the Capital of the Empire to her Merano Castle ... where she spent long periods with her children.

To date, the Puster area is famous for its artistic and landscape beauties, including the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, since June 2009.

Val Pusteria is susceptible of numerous types of tours so a visit can be structured according to the needs of the Group!

Of particular note: the visit to Brunico, the largest of the centers in the valley, with its origin linked to the evangelization of the territory by the will of Prince Bishop Bruno von Kirckberg; Dobbiaco, with the Parish church in Austrian Baroque style among the most remarkable in Tyrol and San Candido with the ancient Collegiate dedicated to the cult of Saints Candido and Corbiniano and still perfectly preserved in Romanesque style.

Do not forget then, in landscape terms, the enchanting Anterselva lake, at 1600 meters above sea level, with marshy shores and amazing woods; Lake Bràies, nestled in the Sesto Dolomites and made famous for the RAI Fiction "Un Passo dal Cielo", the Rodengo Castle, in the homonymous village, a thousand years old ... and the almost equally emblazoned Castel Tùres, close to of the glaciers of the Tùres and Aurina Valleys, the northernmost in Italy.
